prop cavition new suzi 115 on 02 18 ' caracal
Just bought a 02 18' caracal hull with a gill bracket and repowered it w/ new 115 suzuki.when we first used the boat it steered very hard to right and listed left so we put on a stingray hydrofoyl and seem to cure the problem. Now it seems to have alot of prop slippage past 4000rpms.Is this engine highth or possibly in in need of a 4 blade prop? Please help!!!

The steering hard right may be corrected by turning/adjusting the fin under the cavitation plate. This will counter the rotation of the prop. The list is probably caused by the torque of the engine or weight distribution of the boat. The slippage may be caused by an improper diameter and/or pitch of the prop. Here is a web site for a prop calculator.

I suggest doing some reasearch on the what is the proper prop for your boat before looking at moving the engine.
