My New Cat
Hi,

First post here. Just purchased a new power cat, well I got the cat but no motor. I'm up here in Canada and the warranty on the motor that was on the boat would not transfer to Canada so I'm now looking for a new motor. The boat is an Outerbank 20 made by Port Erie. Any suggestions on what motor and prop I should buy for the boat would be much appreciated -- I hafve all winter to decide.

Thanks much,
karma

Re: My New Cat
welcome to the cat family karma

be sure to check with the boat manufacturer when selecting a motor and prop especially with single engine cats they often require unique proping to evacuate air from the prop wash to perform properly
good luck and welcome aboard

Re: My New Cat
Thanks Honda Cat,

One small correction -- the model of my new cat, is in fact, an Off shore 20 -- I was never great with names.

I was thinking of an E-?Tec 115. the tech from the factory suggests a 4-blade prop with a 13" pitch. He says there a company in New Orleans that manufacturer a good SS version of what I'd need, but he couldn't remember the name. The other option is to hang another Honda on the back, but I know the Honda 115s and up would be too heavy, which leaves just the 90, and I'm not sure if Honda's 90 would be sufficient. Not many Suzuki service centres up her eso I'll stay away from them -- too bad. So, I'm sort of torn between an E-Tec 115, and all the new install gear that would go with that, or a honda 90, which could just be hung on the back as all the Honda controls are already there.
