I had a 18' Seagull cat with a single that had simular issues. Ventilated alot even with a 4 blade. I would like to see a picture of the motor down, at the level of the boat "pod" and the motor. I had to put mine down a couple of holes as I remember. The single cat definitely handles odd at times.
